  • The coal plants currently operating in Italy are:
  • Plant of Fiumesanto (SS): owned by EP Produzione SpA, has 2 coal-fired sections of 320 MW each.
  • Plant of Monfalcone in Friuli Venezia Giulia region: owned by A2A, it has 2 coal-fired sections of 165 and 171 MW.
  • Plant of Torrevaldaliga North: owned by Enel SpA, is composed by 3 coal-fired sections of 660 MW. The plant is operational since 2009.
  • Plant of Brescia owned by A2A SpA is made of 1 coal-fired section of 70 MW.
  • Plant of South Brindisi, owned by Enel SpA, is made of 4 coal-fired sections of 660 MW each.
  • Plant of Sulcis, owned by Enel SpA, has 1 unit of 340 MW and 1 unit of 240 MW fuelled with coal.
  • Plant of Fusina, owned by Enel SpA, consists of 4 coal-fired units: 2 of 320 MW each and 2 of 160 MW each.
  • Plant of La Spezia, owned by Enel SpA, has 1 coal-fired unit of 600 MW.
